A diamond border is typical of a Moroccan mosaic table . In addition to the decorative function, it also has a symbolic function: as stylized eyes (witch eyes), square diamonds are supposed to protect people from any kind of harm. The mosaic setters place a wide variety of patterns and ornaments into this frame. However, one thing is always the same: the glazed mosaic pieces are previously carved from the handcrafted Zellige tiles with a sharp-edged hammer. Each table top is purely handcrafted and therefore absolutely unique.
Of all the red tones , Bordeaux red is probably the most elegant. Complemented with natural clay tiles, the elegance of the Zellije mosaic is even emphasized. Combine this mosaic table with dark seats with light upholstery. It gives every modern terrace design a touch of oriental chic .
